First Friday Indie Markets

The Indie Market is a place where local artists and crafts people can come together for an Open Air Market of handmade and vintage goodness. We are located at the corner of South Elm & MLK in Downtown Greensboro. Each Market takes place on the first Friday of every month (April through December) from 4pm – 9pm.

Started in September 2009 by Zeke Vantreese, the First Friday Indie Markets came about through a mutual need for local artists and crafts people to have a place to market what they create and try to make a name for themselves. We have had amazing support from the artists and shoppers and the markets have grown each year. The interest and number of vendors interested in the markets has gotten more intense and a number of our Handmade Triad members are now involved in running these events. It’s definitely a team effort!
